NDC gov't would offer free Malaria treatment at public hospitals

Nkawkaw (E/R), Aug. 19, GNA- The National Democratic Congress (NDC) government would offer free malaria treatment in all public health institutions when it was voted into power.

It would also introduce free medical consultation at public hospitals and clinics to reduce health cost.

The Eastern Regional Secretary of the Party, Mr Anthony Gyampo, disclosed this at a capacity building workshop for constituency executives and party activists from some constituencies in the region on Wednesday at Nkawkaw.

The constituencies were, Atiwa, Nkawkaw, Mpraeso, Abetifi and New Abirim.

He said the party would intensify the Free Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE) programme with the provision of free infrastructures and logistics to improve the standard of education in the country.

The Regional Secretary said the NDC government would absorb water and electricity bills in the Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) since one major cause of increase in boarding fees was high utility bills. He said the NDC government's approach to the country's development led to the increase of cocoa production from 150 tons to 450,000 tons within 12 years and provision of roads and educational infrastructure. Mr Gyampo said the NPP government's policies had failed the nation with high cost of living.
