Action Movement, a pressure group associated with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has lambasted the leadership of the party for running down the umbrella family financially.

Spokesperson for the Movement, Kujo Homenya in an interview with Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm said, the party is currently broke, cannot pay water and electricity bills.

The situation he noted has worsened to the point that former President John Dramani, was compelled to single handedly sponsor the party’s massive durbar at the Ashaiman Mandela Park in commemoration of the party’s 25th anniversary.

"It’s been alleged that the 25th-anniversary program we did at Ashiaman was funded by JM alone, which should not be the case. So when you are asking these questions and talking to our people, it is not like we want the negativity for our party. We are saying it so that when new people are on board, they won’t do things the same way, or when old people take up the same position, they will do things in a different manner.’’

Kujo Homenya said he could not understand why the party after 6 months in opposition, is unable to pay its utility bills.
