A flagbearer aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ekwow Spio-Garbrah has advised party delegates to reject gifts in the upcoming National Delegates’ Congress.
Delegates of the NDC will on Saturday, 17 November 2018, converge on the Trade Fair Centre in Accra to elect national officers to steer party affairs.
According to Mr Spio-Garbrah, the delegates must elect fresh, loyal, determined and committed national executives who are ready to uphold the party’s core values of probity, integrity and accountability and reject those who seek their mandate by lavishing gifts on them.
Speaking to Class News, Mr Spio-Garbrah said: “On Saturday, 17 November, delegates representing constituencies, regional executives from around the country and some of us, former appointees who are members of the national executive committee, and other category of persons who are eligible to vote, will converge [on] the Trade Fair site to elect what we expect to be new set of executives who will lead the NDC into the 2020 elections.
“I’m appealing to the delegates to look beyond all kinds of gifts and monies that may be offered to them and to look at those who will work hard to uphold the values of the NDC, which is, probity, integrity and accountability, which many party executives have not spoken about for years.”
