NDC?s Fierce Infighting

MILLS? CAMP PANICS Over ?Maame Dokono?, Tony Aidoo?s Onslaught

Intelligence information gathered by The Heritage sources suggests that Prof. Mills' Kuku Hill campaign bunker is gripped with dismay over the fierce infighting that has gripped the party. The campaign team has been strategizing at marathon meetings yesterday on how to do damage control and ensure more unity in the party after the onslaught of Dr Tony Aidoo and Madam Grace Omaboe a.k.a. Maame Dokono against the party and its members. According to insider sources, the flag bearer of the party, Prof J.E.A. Mills is unhappy over the infighting and the apparent lack of unity within the party.

The popular Ghanaian actress and a member of the party, Madam Grace Omaboe, Wednesday descended heavily on the party, accusing some of its members of victimization and open bias against her.

She claimed that since 2000 when the party lost its bid for re-election, she had suffered so many insults and insinuations by some adherents of the Sankofa tradition, arguing that it is about time she took a break and think about her own affairs.

Reacting to a newspaper publication that she recently had a brawl with the NDC Women's Organizer, Miss Frances Asiam, the ace TV star yesterday stated on Accra-based Peace FM morning show programme, 'Kokorokoo', that even the party's car she was using was immediately taken away from her after the 2000 polls.

Maame Dokono, who contested the 2000 parliamentary election on the ticket of the NDC for Abirem Constituency, denied the allegation that the party gave her money and iron rods to enable her put up her house.

Accusing the NDC of embarking on propaganda against her, Maame Dokono took the opportunity to openly declare her support for the NPP candidate for the said constituency, saying she would vote 'skirt and blouse' in the forthcoming election.

"I'm voting for the woman. I'm not looking for the party?I'll encourage every woman to be voted for?to go to parliament", she stressed.

Consequently, the NDC Women's Organizer, Frances Asiam also came into the programme and rebutted the allegations by Maame Dokono. It took the host of the programme a hell of time to halt the insults that were been hurled by the two Sankofanians.

This brawl comes barely a week after Dr. Tony Aidoo the former Deputy Defence Minister, had blasted the NDC leadership on the Accra-based Radio Gold current Affairs programme, 'Alhaji and Alhaji'.

Angry over the inability of the party to always defend ex-president Rawlings, Dr Aidoo described the leadership of the party as hypocrites, cowards, adventurers, and incompetent people in his submission on the three-hour programme last Saturday
