Hundreds of jubilant National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters thronged the office of their presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, to celebrate what they believe is his victory in the 2024 general elections.

The atmosphere was electric, with music, dancing, and chants in support of Mahama as they awaited the official announcement of the election results.

Supporters, many of whom shared their personal struggles under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, expressed profound relief and hope for change.

According to them, the past eight years were marked by severe economic challenges, including rising inflation, unemployment, and a high cost of living.

“We have suffered unbearable hardships under this government. Businesses have collapsed, families are struggling to eat, and youth unemployment is at its worst. But with Mahama, we can finally look forward to better days,” one supporter passionately remarked.

Another expressed confidence in Mahama’s leadership, saying, “He has done it before, and we know he will restore dignity and economic stability. This victory is for all Ghanaians who have suffered under bad governance.”

Security personnel have been deployed to maintain order at the celebration sites, as party leaders urge supporters to remain peaceful and await the official announcement. The NDC is confident that this anticipated victory will usher in a new era of hope and transformation for the country

Meanwhile, Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has conceded defeat in the 2024 presidential election.

In his concession speech during a conference on Sunday, December 8, 2024, he acknowledged the election results and thanked Ghanaians for their support.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia also congratulated John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress for winning the elections.
