NDC to launch strategic plan

Kuntanase (Ash), Jan. 28, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is to launch a strategic plan geared towards winning about 60 per cent votes in the 2008 election.

Mr Kwame Amankwa, Bosomtwe Constituency chairman of the party, who announced this, said in furtherance of this the party would soon commence the re-organisation of its structures beginning with the election of polling station executives.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Kuntanase on Thursday about the way forward for the party, Mr Amankwa said after the branch elections, the constituency elections would follow to pave the way for the preparation for the elections.

The constituency chairman described the performance of the NDC in the December 7, 2004 elections as very encouraging and that this was reflected in the 40 per cent of the votes the party obtained. This, he said testified to the fact that the NDC was not a dead party and that it was still a formidable party to contend with and would definitely win the 2008 elections.

He commended supporters and sympathisers of the party for showing a high sense of maturity and comportment before, during and after the election.
