NDC will fulfil promises to electorates-MP

Nkroful(W/R), March 24, GNA - Mr Emmanuel Armah K. Buah, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, has said the party is committed to fulfilling the promises it made during the 2008 elections. "We will work tirelessly to fulfil the promises we made to Ghanaians during the last elections and we will not allow our opponents to distract us," he said.

Mr Buah was speaking at a thanksgiving rally, organized by the Ellembele constituency branch of the NDC at Nkroful at the weekend. He said the party is committed and dedicated to the people and will do all it can to achieve the promises it made to the sovereign people who voted for the party to come to power. He pledged to work with the other political parties in opposition to unite the constituency for its rapid development. Mr Buah who is also the Deputy Minister of Energy urged the people in the constituency to unite, strategise, and adopt attitudes that will promote development in the area.

"We are one people and we must strive to work to achieve development," he told party members. He explained that his decision to contest the seat was aimed at assisting in transforming the face of politics in the Nzema area. Mr Aquinas Quansah, the MP for Mfantseman West urged the MP for the area to let humility be his hallmark and he should work closely with the people in the area. He urged party supporters to allow government execute its programmes and projects, without any hindrances. Dr George Sipa Yankey, Minster of Health said the election was over and that Ghanaians, especially the people of Nzema must bury their differences and join the government for development to thrive in the area. Awulae Attibrukusu II, Vice President of the National House of Chiefs urged politicians not to allow disputed chiefs use them, to achieve their own agenda. "Please do not meddle in chieftaincy issues for the peace of the region and for your own political career," he advised. 24 March 09
