NPP, CPP have a common enemy in the NDC - Kofi Jumah

Former Member of Parliament for Asokwa in the Ashanti Region has called on the leadership of the Convention Peoples' People (CPP) to desist from any attempt to run down Dr. J.B Danquah, one of the many people he believes founded Ghana.

According to Kofi Jumah, it is wrong for members of the CPP to discredit Dr. J.B. Danquah all in an attempt to justify the actions of Ghana’s first President and founder of the CPP, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

"..just as no one can take away the enormous contributions of Nkrumah to this country's development, no one must try to take that of J.B. Danquah away from him,” he said on Okay FM.

Kofi Jumah’s comments were in reaction to a claim by a former CPP Youth Organizer that, it is inaccurate for the main opposition NPP which finds its roots in the Danquah, Busia and Domo political tradition to present J.B. Danquah as the first Doctorate Degree holder in Ghana.

“We must all bear in mind that the history of Ghana did not start with J.B. Danquah as we are being made to believe. Kwame Nkrumah is not responsible for the death of J.B. Danquah, and the assertion that he was the first Ph.D. holder in Ghana cannot be true,” he told Kwame Nkrumah Tikesie.

However, Kofi Jumah is of the belief that these are low blows meant to cover the atrocities that went on during the reign of Osagyfo Kwame Nkrumah.

To him, the CPP and NPP have a common enemy in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
