The incumbent Member of Parliament for New Juaben South in the Eastern region, Mark Assibey Yeboah is likely to lose his seat to the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Michael Okyere Baafi, according to renowned pollster Ben Ephson.
Speaking on the Morning Starr on Wednesday on the upcoming parliamentary primaries within the NPP, Mr Ephson said Assibey Yeboah underrated his opponent and that is likely to cause him an upset in the upcoming contest.
The New Juaben South seat is one of the hotly contested in the upcoming primaries but according to Mr Ephson, the campaign team of Okyere Baafi has done a wonderful job in projecting and endearing their candidate to the delegates.
He added that Assibey Yeboah who is also the Chairman of Parliament’s Finance Committee has been tagged as arrogant by the delegates after he claimed that there will no parliament without him.
Meanwhile, Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo and Deputy Chief of Staff, Francis Asenso-Boakye will sail through in their respective constituencies in the Saturday primaries.
According to Mr Ephson, the minister in charge of Procurement will win the contest against Ghana’s High Commissioner to India Mike Ocquaye Junior because of the intervention of her colleague MP and businessman Kennedy Agyepong.
