Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Aspirant for Nkwanta South, Richard Manuribe has said the just ended New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries is the cause of the spike in coronavirus cases in the country.
According to him, party members failed to adhere to the COVID-19 safety protocols and this has led to the rapid rise in the country's case count.
“The just ended NPP primaries is the reason why Ghana is recording more cases because when they went for the primaries the party members flouted the COVID-19 protocols,’’ Richard Manuribe told exclusively told Reynold Agyemeng on ‘Pae Mu Ka’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7
He stressed that "President Nana Akufo-Addo has fallen short of combating the coronavirus in Ghana as cases continue to soar.’’
He believed the President has failed to implement certain measures that would have curtailed the spread.
The Ghana Health Service Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye said that 496 new cases have increased Ghana’s COVID-19 case count to 18,630.
He made this known on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at a press briefing organized by the Information Ministry.
He says the Greater Accra Region was leading the case count with 209 new cases.
