The newly elected New Patriotic Party Volta Regional Organiser, Emmanuel Korsi Bodja, has started implementing a roadmap to enhance the party’s electoral fortunes in 2020.
Mr Bodja aims at introducing an “affable leadership style” in the NPP laced with other programmes to galvanise grassroots support for the NPP in the opposition National Democratic Congress’ stronghold.
“I have always been saying that our problem in the Volta Region is leadership, we want leaders to be able to create opportunities for others to come in... so what am bringing onboard is leadership and all other things will follow”, he said.
However, he believes a fragmented front would jeopardise the NPP’s electoral fortunes hence has resolved to repair broken relationships which occurred prior to the 2018 Volta Region Extraordinary Delegates Congress.
Mr Bodja has thus called on his predecessor and strongest contender in the just ended regional executives elections, Devine Bosson, to iron out their differences and work as a united front for the betterment of the NPP.
“My visit was to reconcile the various factions [of the NPP] for a common goal and as well extend a hand to my brother to join me work towards the 2020 elections”.
Mr Bodja added that “We [NPP] are quickly starting work for victory in 2020, we won’t wait for a year to the elections before we hit the grounds running.”
Emmanuel Korsi Bodja polled 301 votes to secure the Regional Organiser position beating his two contenders, with the incumbent, Devine Bosson, receiving 179 votes.
