Former National First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Stephen Ayensu Ntim has officially declared his intention to contest the party’s chairmanship.

This becomes his fourth attempt at the post which he has unsuccessfully failed to net since 2005.

Speaking exclusively to 3FM’s Kwakye Afreh-Nuamah Saturday at the ongoing National Delegates Congress of the NPP in Cape Coast, Mr Ntim said there’s overwhelming support from the party’s delegates to ‘reward’ his loyalty and commitment to the party.

“I’ve gone through the mill. This is the time for the delegates to crown me with the chairmanship title. It’s long overdue” he told our correspondent.

He added: We have to reward loyalty, long service, commitment to the party and I’m the only one who stands tall among the whole lot”.

He will be up against Freddie Blay and Richard Amoako Baah among other candidates in the elections.

Mr Ntim is a systems engineer by profession and holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Minnesota.

He was the first National Vice Chairman from 2001 to 2005, and has been tipped by some party members to become the next chairman of the party.
