A Communication Team Member of the New Patriotic Party, Yaw Yeboah, has predicted that attacks will be unleashed on the party's executives by their own members in the coming days.

Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime following the ruling party's defeat in the 2024 general elections, Yaw Yeboah accused the party's executives of hoarding resources that were meant to be used during the campaign season.

“Very soon, you see the NDC guys and the attacks on the streets, the NPP guys will also chase them (referring to NPP bigwigs) in their houses. I am telling you. The party executives,” he stated.

“To do what? To account to the people. I can tell you now that even resources that were supposed to be for the election are in their houses,” Yaw Yeboah added.

He expressed his frustrations, noting that party executives deprived constituency and polling station executives of resources, leading to voter apathy that caused the party’s defeat.

“We are angry. Go to the constituencies, go to the polling stations. Why do we have polling station executives? Go and ask them if they were resourced enough to go into this election.

“I won’t come and sit here and pretend that all is well. Look, we failed to energize the people,” he added.

The NPP has largely blamed its defeat in the 2024 election on voter apathy.

Following the declaration of the presidential results for the 2024 election, there have been reported attacks on various state institutions by persons alleged to be members of the National Democratic Congress.

In the 2024 presidential race, former President Mahama, who was the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, won the race according to the results declared by the Electoral Commission. He beat 12 other candidates with 56.55% of the total valid votes.

His closest contender, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the ruling New Patriotic Party, obtained 41.61% of the total valid votes cast.
