The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Friday ended a seven-month nation-wide tour to interact with a cross section of Ghanaians.
The tour, which was inspired by flagbearer’s vision to build a society of opportunities and aspirations for every Ghanaian, started in July 2011from the Eastern Region and ended in the Volta Region.
Nana Akufo-Addo travelled long distances to big cities, small towns, villages and hamlets which offered him a first-hand opportunity to hear directly from Ghanaians what their concerns, problems and aspirations were.
Mr Boakye Agyarko, NPP Campaign Manager, said the tour was a most humbling and enlightening experience for the flagbearer as well as other party leaders.
He said:: “the tour has made Nana Akufo-Addo more prepared than ever to lead the country as he is determined more than ever to bring the kind of change that will transform both our society and economy”.
Mr Lord Commey, NPP Director of Operations, said the tour was “the longest, intimate and most enduring campaign regime ever undertaken by any flagbearer of the party within such a short period in Ghana’s history."
Mr Commey noted that NPP’s rally at Manste Agbonaa, Jamestown, in Accra on Saturday will bring to an end the listening tour and usher in another round of nationwide tours.
“Nana Addo will embark on another intensive and extensive tour to restore hope. First, he went and listened. Now, he will go back and restore hope,” Mr Commey said .
