The Minority New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Parliament is to meet to discuss the honourable Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo Markin’s ADB bribery allegations.

The meeting, Kasapafmonline.com learnt, would be called at the instance of the Minority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.

Sources close to the Minority Leader say he is very much disturbed about the scandal that has hit their ‘darling boy’.

Mr. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, according to our sources, was also disturbed by the alleged involvement of the Minority Spokesperson on Finance, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei and one of their rising stars, Dr. Mark Assibey-Yeboah in the alleged bribery scandal.

The meeting, this website understands, will be attended by some senior members in the Minority front, after which they will meet with Markins, Akoto Osei and Assibey-Yeboah, sources familiar with the situation have told this website.

The outcome of the yet-to-be-held meeting will be communicated to the party leadership.

The Effutu lawmaker is currently in Court seeking to restrain the ADB from going ahead with its Initial Public Offer (IPO) that is expected to pave the way for the bank to list on the Ghana Stock Exchange.

Mr. Markin has threatened to go the full scale of the suit.

“The ADB case will never be withdrawn”, he said in a recent interview with Randy Abbey on Metro TV.

Mr. Markin has been fingered for using the suit against the bank as a bait to get him paid huge sums of money in an attempt to soften his stance.

A cross section of the public has described his action as blackmail when reports went viral on social media platforms and on some radio stations suggesting that some funds had changed hands between the bank and Mr. Markin.

The purported audio tape recording had a conversation between two men discussing how they plotted against the bank to make some money using the court action against the IPO as bait.

One of the men, it was alleged, was the Effutu legislator while other was his childhood friend, Kwesi Bonzoh.
