NPP not copying Mahama's campaign strategy - Justin Kodua

General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Justin Frimpong Kodua General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Justin Frimpong Kodua

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Justin Frimpong Kodua, has described the NDC's claims that the NPP is plagiarizing its campaign strategy as absurd.

In response to these claims, Mr. Frimpong Kodua stated in an interview on JoyNews' The Pulse on July 2 that every flagbearer can tour the country to engage and campaign with the populace.

His remarks come after a statement by the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Fiifi Kwetey, accusing the NPP of copying their campaign strategy.

Fiifi Kwetey claimed that the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, engages with chiefs, opinion leaders, and various groups across the country, the same strategy adopted by the NPP flagbearer.

However, Mr. Frimpong Kodua argued that it is only natural for every party to engage with voters leading up to the general elections.

"The bottom line is that they are all voters, and we have to engage with them in one way or another. So, I don't see how engaging with certain groups means we are copying. We are all campaigning."

He added, "Wherever we go, they will also go. There are constituencies we have visited that their presidential candidate has not yet visited. Does that mean he is copying us when he eventually goes there?"
