The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has earmarked 276 venues across the country for its national delegates’ conference on Saturday, October 18, an official has said.
On Monday, October 13, logistics in terms of ballot papers, albums and boxes were dispatched to the centers, the official indicated.
Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, the Director of Elections, said the Electoral Commission (EC) has custody of the logistics for the conference, which will elect a flagbearer for the party’s 2016 election challenge.
“[The Electoral Commission] are going to be the one to conduct this election for us,” Mr Korsah said.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Francis Addai-Nimoh and Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen are the aspirants to contest Saturday's climactic internal elections.
“There will be no regional voting centers as one would have thought,” the Director of Elections said.
“We are taking them to the constituencies that contain the regional offices or within which the regional office is situated.”
He said an additional polling center will be set up at the party’s headquarters aside the 275 constituencies, taking the total number of centers to 276.
