The New Patriotic Party's parliamentary candidate for Techiman South, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, has been declared the Member of Parliament-elect for the constituency by the Electoral Commission.

This comes after he secured 46,663 votes, while his opponent, Dr. Christopher Bayere of the NDC, received 43,429 votes.

The Deputy Returning Officer for Techiman South, Amartey Adzawutor, in declaring the final results, stated that the commission did not include two outstanding polling stations—D/A Primary School Bamiri, with 657 voters, and Islamic JHS Abuoso, with 481 voters—in the final collation due to certain issues surrounding them.

He explained that adding the results from these two polling stations would not affect the total votes accumulated by the winner, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah.

Addressing the media shortly after his declaration, the incumbent MP Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah attributed his victory to God and the prayers of his constituents.

“It is the doing of the Lord. I’m grateful to God for this opportunity, and the same to the good people of Techiman South. We give all thanks to God,” he said.
