Acting General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadu has revealed that the party will soon sanction whoever put out the wrong information about the supposed appointment of Lawyer and Member of Parliament for Adenta, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah as its new Director of Communications.
Senior Partner of Africa Legal Associates and founder of the Danquah Institute, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, who broke the news of the said appointment on his Facebook wall Wednesday, hailed the decision to appoint the lawmaker admitting a deficit in the party’s communications under the tenure of Mr Yaw Adomako Baafi:
“Congrats to Yaw Buabeng Asamoah for your appointment as the new Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party. Clearly, there was a huge leadership vacuum in the ruling party’s communication machinery and we are all happy to hear that Chairman Blay, General John Boadu and the team have acted accordingly."
Mr. Asamoah who previously served as the party’s deputy Director of Communications and has been effective in defending the government and party positions in the media is to replace Acting Director of Communications of the NPP, Yaw Adomako Baafi.
But Acting General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu in an interview on Okay FM stated that no such appointed has been made by the party as the National Executive Committee (NEC) which has the mandate to make such appointed has not met over the issue.
“Very soon the National Executive Committee through the National Steering Committee will meet and deliberate over this issue and determine the necessary punishment to be meted out to whoever put out this information into the public domain…apart from Gabby several others also posted the false information.”
