Maverick Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe otherwise known as Abronye DC has revealed that the party is fast losing popularity in the region following the continued stay in office of the current Regional Minister, Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh.

He challenged those who are in doubt of his claim to commission an independent body like the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to conduct a research and will be amazed at the findings that may vindicate his stance.

“I am not interested in money but if the conduct of someone is affecting the party we need to speak up. The President at Cape Coast asked us to petition with evidence of alleged corruption involving his appointees. That is what I am working with. We have two communications teams in the region now-the Ministers and that of Abronye DC. This is what we will go to the 2020 elections with”, he said.

The controversial party executive observed that the evidence that the Minister is killing the party was the outcome of the Council of State elections where a so-called preferred candidate of the President as claimed by Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh was defeated heavily after emerging with 9 votes.

“If elections are held today you will all be witnesses to what shall befall the NPP. What someone is doing is affecting the party and we have all failed to talk about it, it shall affect all of us in the long run. The Minister has lost control of the party in the area. I control 28 constituencies in the area but he can only hold onto one which is Atebubu”

He warned that if drastic measures are not immediately taken to safeguard the image of the party, what awaits it in 2020 is not in the general interest of the party that currently holds the supremacy of the region.
