A former National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku, who is optimistic that his party will win the 2024 polls, has disclosed that they are not in a haste to disclose the victory margin.
Speaking on the sidelines of the outdooring of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Vice Presidential Candidate of the NPP, he stated that unlike their political opponents, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who are not specific on their victory margin, the NPP will come with a figure by October 2024.
“We will not be like the NDC and give different figures we will win the 2024 elections with. Edward Omane Boamah, Director of Elections and Information Communications Technology for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), forecasts a victory for former President John Dramani Mahama, estimating a win by 57.3%. The National Chairman of the NDC also projects the party will win by 52%. You can see that within some months’ intervals they have moved from 57.3% to 52%. We will make our figures known by October,” he said.
He sarcastically asked the NDC to learn to collate their results so that they do not come back claiming to have been cheated by the EC.
A few months ago, he disclosed that the party will beat the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 polls based on strategy.
He rubbished claims of attempted rigging by the governing party, reiterating that the NPP will rely on a campaign of issues and strategy to defeat its opponents at the polls.
“The last time I came here, I told you that the NPP will win the elections based on strategy, the NDC will not understand. We are proposing solutions.
In his view, “the ballot in 2024 will be a choice between hope and hopelessness, between the future that the youth are dreaming of and the future you can never get. It will be a choice between a young man who is also determined that this is what I can do for my people when given the opportunity and the others.”
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana Show, the former National Organiser of the NPP stated that the party is focused on selling its campaign message for Ghanaians to compare and contrast, expressing optimism that his party has a superior message and strategy.
“NPP will not attempt or try to rig a single ballot but our deep thought-out strategy, planning leading to execution, and also communicating what we can do to the Ghanaian people,” he disclosed.
