Hohoe (V/R), June 2, GNA - Mr Mustapha Hamid, National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on the Party's youth organisers in the Volta Region to gear their efforts towards capturing parliamentary seats for the party instead of engaging in unnecessary in-fighting, which could destroy the its image.

Mr Hamid directed them to organise monthly meetings to review and plan strategies that would assist the Party to capture parliamentary seats in the forthcoming elections.

He announced that a total of 10 billion cedis had been set aside under the Youth Development Fund of the Ministry of Youth and Sports to support the youth in 30 out of the 110 districts in the country on a pilot basis.

Mr Hamid said 980 million cedis out of the amount would be allocated to the Youth in the Jasikan, Kadjebi and Ketu Districts to establish businesses, with 240 million cedis each going to Jasikan and Kadjebi and 300 million cedis to Ketu.

He asked the youth in the beneficiary Districts to stay at home and apply for loans under the scheme instead of flocking to the cities in search of non-existent jobs.
