Kalsagra (UW), May 1, GNA - Wing Commander Eric Dakurah (RTD), Nadowli District Chief Executive (DCE) on Wednesday said he was confident that New Patriotic Party (NPP) would win the Nadowli West Constituency seat.
"I have done my home work well and I can confidently tell you that the seat has been delivered to the NPP and the current Member of Parliament who is the Minority Leader in Parliament knows very well that he will loose the seat this year."
Wing Commander Dakurah said this at Kalsagra in the Nadowli West Constituency when the Upper West Regional NPP leadership, led by Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Abubakari, Regional Chairman, toured the constituency to solicit support for the Party.
He said his optimism of winning the seat was informed by the fact that he was always with the people and within two years of his administration as DCE, he had implemented projects that had taken others more than 15 years to complete.
These include school buildings, accommodation for teachers, hospital laboratory at Nadowli, the largest in the region, boreholes and feeder roads.
Wing Commander Dakurah said very soon Sankana, Takpo, Nanvilli, Charikpong, Yiziri, Jang Tibani, Naro and Chang would all be provided with electricity.
He said the people saw him as someone who was truthful, humble, supportive, tolerant and open minded ensuring that his words were backed by action.
He said this had led to the people calling him "action man" through out the district.
Alhaji Abubakari told elders in the communities he visited that some of the Members of Parliament from the region had been in Parliament for close to 16 years and it was now time to bid them farewell for another generation of MPs to take over.
He said: "We need MPs who will focus on getting us out of our poverty situation and not those who will go and shout loudest for the world to know that they can talk".
Alhaji Abubakari said most of the big dams and health centres in the region were constructed during the Progress Party regime which had three senior cabinet positions adding "let us go back to our roots and with Nana Akufo-Addo at the helm we will never regret".
