The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has officially unveiled Nana Frimpomaa as its presidential candidate for the 2024 elections.

The event, held on the 115th birthday of Ghana’s first president and founder of the CPP Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum on September 21, 2024, was led by the party’s Interim Committee Chairman, Wing Commander Sogborjor (rtd).

In her speech, Nana Frimpomaa called on Ghanaians to rally behind the CPP in a bid to oust what she described as the "corrupt New Patriotic Party (NPP) government."

"We are ready to take over the affairs of this country and build a future where every Ghanaian can thrive," she stated.

One of the key highlights of the event was the launch of the CPP’s new economic manifesto, dubbed the "GhanaBa Shares."

Nana Frimpomaa outlined the party’s plan to inject $20 billion into the economy to empower 20 million Ghanaians. The initiative seeks to make ordinary citizens owners of the state, an ambitious goal aimed at transforming Ghana’s economic and social landscape.

Joining Nana Frimpomaa on the CPP ticket is Lawyer Wayoe Ghanamati, an internationally recognised lawyer known for his pro-bono work with vulnerable and marginalized communities. His unveiling as the party’s vice-presidential candidate adds further credibility to the CPP's campaign.

In his address, Lawyer Ghanamati reminded Ghanaians of the importance of the upcoming elections, scheduled for December 7, 2024.

He urged voters to choose wisely, stating that January 7, 2025, will mark the beginning of a new era under CPP leadership if elected.

He highlighted the significance of voting for the CPP, represented by the number 7 on the ballot, as a vote for the people and a brighter future.

"A vote for the CPP is a vote for ownership, equity, and the economic independence that Ghanaians have long awaited," Ghanamati said.
