Nasara congratulates NPP for a successful Congress

Accra, Dec. 20, GNA - The Nasara wing of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has congratulated the Party for holding a successful and peaceful National Delegates' Congress, saying it was a manifestation of its internal democracy.

"We express appreciation to all Party men, sympathisers and friends from other political parties whose presence at the function contributed to its success," the group said in a statement released in Accra and signed by its chairman, Alhaji Husseini Maiga. It commended the maturity and commitment exhibited by the losing candidates.

"To us they have not lost but rather have passed a test of intra-party democracy," the statement added and urged all to put aside any differences and work for peace.

The group also welcomed the new executive and pledged to give them the necessary support with the hope that they will identify the efforts of Nasara in the NPP and give it the necessary support. "Nasara has confidence in the newly elected executive of Mr Mac Manu, a patron of Nasara and hope he will never disappoint Nasara and the NPP," it added.

The statement also congratulated President John Kufuor and Vice President Aliu Mahama for attending the Congress.
