Jirapa (U/W), Oct. 26, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has elected a 15-member executive for the Jirapa constituency to manage the affairs of the party for the next four years. The executives were elected by popular acclamation while that of the Youth Organiser and Treasurer positions were contested for. Alhaji Ibrahim Poyie retained the chairmanship position with the vice chairman post going to Mr. John Segoh Sukuung. Mr. Cletus Dapila Seidu was elected Secretary.
The constituency Organiser post went to Mr. Stephen Kandatam and Mr. Dikomwini Zunle is the Deputy Organiser. Mr. Hamza Osman is Deputy Secretary, Madam Balikisu Adam, Propaganda Secretary and Katumayi Dabuo, Deputy Propaganda Secretary. Mr. Gobiel Alipius Bokuma was elected treasurer and the Deputy Treasurer is Mary Rose Tingan.
Mr. Adam Mumuni is the Constituency Youth Organiser and Mr. Fuseini Salifu is the Deputy Youth Organiser. Hajia Meri Ishmael was elected Constituency Women Organiser while Madam Aku Kpede and Hajia Adia Adamu took the first Deputy Women Organiser and second Deputy Women Organiser posts respectively. Mr. Malik Issahaque, Upper West Regional Chairman of the NDC, appealed to the new executives to work assiduously in the communities to win the 2012 elections for the party to continue with its development agenda for the country. He thanked the delegates for their sense of maturity in the election, saying consensus building was very important in the democratic process of the NDC and should be encouraged at all times. Dakurah, Member of Parliament for the Jirapa constituency, advised the executives not be complacent that the seat was secured for the NDC but to work harder to win the confidence of the people before 2012 elections. 26 Oct 09
