The 2024 Presidential Candidate of opposition National Democratic Congress, John Mahama says he is seeking the presidency again because of the crisis the country is currently enduring.
Mahama who is currently on a campaign tour of the North East Region argued that progress had not seen meaningful progress since he left office in January 2017.
“I’m running for president again because our country is in crisis. The nation that I handed over to the last Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration, they have not been able to move the country up to the next level,” Mr. Mahama said of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“Today as I speak, our economy is in shambles, we are in a debt crisis. Energy crisis is starting again; every day the light are being put off,” the former President said in a Tweet.
Mahama likened his fourth attempt for the presidency to a “destiny call,” adding that he had the experience to change the course of the nation.
