The Running Mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, known as NAPO, has hailed the Akufo-Addo administration as the most effective government in Ghana's history.

Speaking at the official launch of the Ashanti Regional NPP Campaign Working Committees and Women’s Conference in Kumasi, he noted that the administration was the first in Ghana’s history to provide free food during a pandemic and to undertake the largest school construction initiative in the country.

"No administration in our history has governed as effectively as Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's. This is the first government to commence the construction of 111 hospitals, build more schools, and establish new universities at an unprecedented rate," Dr. Prempeh stated.

He further emphasized the government’s efforts in the health sector.

"No government has employed over 200,000 nurses and doctors as this administration has done. In the face of intense challenges such as hunger and the pandemic, the Akufo-Addo government has provided free food, electricity, and water to support the citizens," citinewsroom.com reports.

Dr. Prempeh also pointed to the increase in the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) program, which has seen its benefits tripled under Akufo-Addo's leadership, impacting around 300,000 beneficiaries.

As the 2024 general elections approaches, Dr. Prempeh has urged Ghanaians to rally behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate, expressing confidence that Bawumia will build on Akufo-Addo’s achievements and further improve the country’s fortunes.

"I have no doubt that Dr. Bawumia, as president, will achieve even more. It is important to commend President Akufo-Addo for laying this solid foundation before Dr. Bawumia takes over," he concluded, the report added.
