The Northern Regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daniel Bugri Naabu says the upcoming November 7 general elections will be a 'do and die' affair for the NPP as a party.

According to him, the NPP cannot trust the Electoral Commissioner, Madam Charlotte Osei and the Electoral Commission (EC) to conduct a free, fair and transparent elections.

Daniel Bugri Naabu in an interview with Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio said, the posture of the EC boss has shown clearly that, the Commission is in bed with the ruling government to manipulate the elections just like it did for it in 2008 and 2012 but the NPP will not entertain such manipulation again he stressed.

"If you see what the Commissioner is doing, it has shown clearly that we cannot rely on them; because in 2008 and 2012, the EC manipulated the results for the ruling NDC. They have said that, elections are won at the polling stations. So I am advising all our members everywhere, even though the police are there to do their work, we have to be vigilant."

"Anyone who will try to steal the ballot boxes or do double voting or manipulation; its not going to be easy that day because it is a do and die.We have seen that since 2008, 2012 the NDC never won the elections, they only manipulated the results," Mr. Naabu said.

He added, "I have to advise my people that everyone must be a policeman that day, to secure the ballot box is safe. We will not allow them to manipulate the results this time around, we will not accept it. The results at the polling station must be a true reflection of what will be declared by the Commissioner."

Mr. Naabu chastised the EC boss, Madam Charlotte Osei and described her as an NDC loyalist who was appointed by her paymasters to rig the elections in their favour.

He further called on her to focus on the core duties as a commissioner and desist from her plans of rigging the elections for the NDC because the NPP will not allow her succeed.

"The woman [Charlotte Osei] is just a NDC woman they came and put there. Apart from that, we cannot trust her. She will leave her work and be doing something else. We are talking about a new register and you are talking about a new logo... Madam Charlotte will not be fair, because she is speaking for the NDC now. She is an NDC and there is not doubt about that. If she is not NDC why is she resisting the call for a new register. She will never be fair; as for fairness forget it. She want to rig the elections for the NDC but our [NPP] eyes are opened now, we are looking at her, whatever she will do, she can't do it at this time."

He explained that, he was not calling for confusion but admonishing his party supporters to police the ballot despite the role of the security agencies on election day.

He said, the NPP do not want a repeat of the Supreme Court case hence they will do all they can to police the ballot box to ensure victory for the party and Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
