Agona Nsaba, C/R, Oct 17, GNA - Mr Tetteh Danyo, Vice Chairman of the Agona East constituency branch of the NDC, has called on the National and Regional executives of the party to nullify the acclamation of Mr Adu- Yeboah, MP for the area, as the candidate to contest the 2004 election.
Speaking to the newsmen at Agona Nsaba, Mr Danyo said the original list for the delegates' conference was changed and people hand picked by the MP and three executive members attended and acclaimed Mr Adu Yeboah as the NDC candidate.
He noted that out of 206 delegates who should have attended, only 50 were present, which did not form a quorum and endorsed the MP by acclamation on October 8, 2004.
The Vice Chairman pointed out that out 15 constituency executives, only three were informed and attended.
Mr Danyo stated that investigation had revealed that those who attended the conference were not the Ward executives selected for the delegates' conference.
He called on the Regional and National executives of the party to nullify the endorsement of the MP to avert confusion in the constituency to enable the NDC to retain the seat.
Mr Danyo appealed to the flag bearer of NDC to intervene to resolve the rift between some of the executives in the constituency and the MP " before things get out of hand" .
