Akim Oda, Oct 21, GNA - The Akim Oda constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has elected a 13-member executive to steer the affairs of the party for the next four years at a delegates congress held at Akim Oda Thursday.

The post of Chairman went to Mr Anane Boateng, Mr Lawrence Boateng, the First Vice Chairman, Ms Ophelia Koomson, the Second Vice Chairman, Mr Yaw Frimpong, the Secretary, Mr Kofi Arko, the Assistant Secretary, Alhaji Yussif, the Organizer, and Mr George Ntiamoah, the Deputy Organizer.

In an address Mr Tawiah Boateng, the Eastern Regional Organizer of the NDC, commended the delegates for the peaceful manner they conducted the election and advised both the winners and the losers to team up and embark on a mobilization drive.

He advised them to guard against acts that would tend to divide their ranks, reminding them that politics is about numbers.

Mr Boateng urged them to be prepared to counteract negative propaganda and lies being peddled by supporters of the New Patriotic Party and said, "You should sacrifice a bit towards victory in the 2008 general elections".

Mr Antwi Boasiako Sekyere, a former Eastern Regional Deputy Minister, said Ghanaians were yearning for the NDC to come back to power and urged party supporters to work extra hard towards that goal.
