President John Dramani Mahama is drawing praises from a section of the public for his visit to Bawku and Nalerigu as part of efforts to find a permanent solution to the Bawku chieftaincy crisis.
One picture from Mahama’s visit to the Nayiri's palace in Nalerigu is particularly earning him more admiration from the public.
The president was captured quietly sitting on a plastic chair as he was being addressed by Nayiri-Naa Bohugu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga.
This image stands in sharp contrast to the visuals from a similar visit by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who travelled to the Nayiri’s palace with his 'special' presidential chair.
Following Mahama’s visit, visuals of Akufo-Addo's visit to the same location have also gone viral.
These visuals show former President Akufo-Addo addressing the Nayiri with his presidential chair, which was transported from Accra, positioned behind him.
It is worth noting that former President Akufo-Addo was heavily criticised for transporting the chair to every public event he attended in the country, with many pointing to the costs involved in its transportation.
