Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has finally commented on reports of him preparing for a major role in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2028 elections.

Okudzeto Ablakwa’s recent exposés have seen his stock in political circles rise astronomically, with many tipping him for either a flagbearer or running mate role for the NDC in the 2028 elections.

On the Saturday, November 23 edition of TV3’s KeyPoints program, private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu suggested that the NDC give him the running mate position in the 2028 elections.

While Kpebu believes that Okudzeto Ablakwa is ripe for the presidential candidate position, he opines that some people might oppose it because of Ablakwa’s age.

“I was telling somebody that at this rate in 2028, the NDC will have no option but to make Okudzeto Ablakwa vice presidential candidate,” he said.

But in response, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa downplayed the suggestion by Martin Kpebu, pleading to be left out of such discussions.

“I beg you, ooo, I beg you,” Okudzeto said repeatedly while Martin Kpebu touted his credentials as someone worthy of the role.

Okudzeto Ablakwa has been the lawmaker for the people of North Tongu since winning the seat in the 2008 elections.

He has served as Deputy Minister of Information and Education.

Currently, he is the chairman of Parliament’s Government Assurance Committee.
