Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the Vice Presidential Candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has announced plans to revitalize market centers nationwide through a proposed Markets Enhancement Programme (MEP).

She emphasized that this initiative aims to strengthen trading activities, particularly for women, and stimulate local economies.

While addressing Muslim queen mothers and traders in Asawase, part of her campaign tour in the Ashanti Region, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang highlighted the NDC's successful history of constructing modern markets, such as the Kejetia Market in Kumasi and the Kotokoraba Market in Cape Coast.

She reassured attendees that the party was committed to fulfilling its promises.

Acknowledging the needs of Muslim communities, she recalled that the previous NDC government facilitated training for Muslim women in Cuba to become doctors, enabling them to provide essential medical care to their communities.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang affirmed that a future NDC administration would continue this policy, focusing on training more Muslim women as doctors to serve predominantly Muslim populations.
