Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo has picked the Deputy Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah as his best performing minister in the Akufo-Addo administration.

He described the young minister and MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi, who’s a lawyer by profession and a financial analyst as the “rising star” in the ruling government.

“In the Akufo-Addo government I have a rising star and that is my good friend Kojo Oppong Nkrumah. He’s learnt very fast, to date if you take him out, I’ll always go for Dr Anthony Akoto Osei. He has a lot of institutional memory, unassuming but technically gifted.” He told the Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Starr FM.

He passed judgement on the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta as the worst performing minister, adding that the numbers are speaking for his stewardship.

“He’s collapsed our banking sector, when they inherited the supposed bankrupt economy, that economy in the first four months of 2017 which they said was the worst economy was able to give new loans of 2.8 billion to businessmen to do business and expand. In this 8.5 expanded economy they’re only able to give only 600 million, 600 million one major project which collapses will take care of that money so now what are the banks doing, that is why they’re laying off workers. Beige is sending off 500 workers, there are plans to lay off 5000 workers and you think this ministers should still be sitting there? and they say he’s an asset, I don’t know what he would have been if he were a liability,” Hon. Adongo who’s a member of the Finance Committee of Parliament told Bola Ray on Starr Chat.
