Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Ofoase-Ayirebi in the Eastern Region, has ended his one week “Thank You Tour”.

The former host of Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, after meeting and interacting with the delegates throughout the constituency, thanked them for endorsing him as the parliamentary candidate for 2016.

The Ofoase-Ayirebi NPP parliamentary candidate’s aim for embarking on the tour was to call for unity among the delegates and the defeated aspirants so that they could rally behind him in order to achieve the desired victory come 2016.

Speaking to DAILY GUIDE in Ofoase on Sunday, Oppong Nkrumah hinted that his aim was to hold a reconciliation meeting aimed at mending the cracks in the party in the area after the primary.

“If someone has done something for you, you need to thank him/her; and that’s my mission. I have called on them to forgive and forget everything so that we all come on board for one agenda, since the recently held primaries saw most of the executives throwing their weight behind one candidate, a situation that has created some divisions within the party,” Oppong Nkrumah said.

Mr Oppong Nkrumah stated that he had finally resolved all internal conflicts in the party in the constituency and promised to help with logistics that would boost members’ morale to embark on a serious campaign to achieve victory come 2016.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah polled an overwhelming 219 votes to beat his closest contender, John Obiri Yeboah, who polled 145, and another aspiring candidate, Bright Asamoah Acquah, who polled a paltry 54 votes during the NPP parliamentary primaries held recently.

Kojo in his campaign message promised to institute an education trust fund in the constituency to help needy but brilliant students, adding that he would also provide the constituency with a doctor to cater for the health needs of the constituents. The delegates accepted the promises and voted massively for the astute communicator.

The Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency is known to be a seat for the opposition NPP.
