PAP Rallies Support for Alhaji Habib in Ingleshie-Amanfrom Constituency

Patriotic Ambassadors for Peace Patriotic Ambassadors for Peace

A 20-member contingent of Patriotic Ambassadors for Peace (PAP) under the leadership of Katakyie Kwame Opoku Agyemang stormed Ingleshie-Amanfrom Constituency in the Greater Accra Region on Friday, September 16, 2016 for a 3-day outreach programme. The group was met on arrival by the NPP PC for the Constituency, Alhaji Habib Saad, Mr. Obeng and the Assembly Member of Amanfrom, Hon. Kwakye Mensah.

A day prior to the outreach programme, Hon. Kwakye Mensah and Mr. Obeng led PAP's Director of Operations, Andy Amoako on a tour of Amanfrom Electoral Area where PAP's activities were to be concentrated. That was followed by a short introduction and an oral briefing on the political dynamics of the area by Hon. Mensah. It was revealed that Amanfrom, which happens to be the largest Electoral Area (25 Polling Stations) in the Constituency is predominantly settled by Ewes, Northerners and Muslims.

A formal permission was sought from the Dagomba Chief in the area, Abdala Amidu who readily accepted our request with much enthusiasm. Team PAP quickly divided itself into two groups and developed a movement plan in the area to make the political exercise effective. With flyers and posters of Nana Addo and Alhaji Habib, PAPers in their specially-designed T-shirts interacted with the people, involved themselves in most of their activities, pasted posters and preached the message of change, peace and hope to them. The demand for PAP T-shirts by the constituents was overwhelming and the shouts of "Change is Coming", " NPP fo? w? krom" nearly plugged our ears.

Upon a special request by the PC to consider Botianor for our activity, Team PAP moved to the area on Sunday and met with the Assembly Member in the area, Nii Ayi (aka Pizarro). After a short briefing and introduction, he led Team PAP to interact with the Ewe Community in the area with the view to urging them to arise for change in the upcoming polls. Although, we could not cover the entire Botianor due to time factor, a special arrangement has been made for a second visit.

It must be noted that, in the last few months, PAP has embarked on a number of outreach and sensitizing programmes in Ghana. Among them are Ahafo-Ano North Constituency in Ashanti, Ningo-Prampram in Greater Accra, Wa Central in Upper West, and Ho-West in the Volta Regions. It has made donations such as bicycles, t-shirts and posters to some PCs and constituencies. PAP has also outlined series of outreaches till December, where items like computers, food, books and clothes would be donated to the Constituency Offices and constituents.

As usual, Team PAP would do a SWOT analysis on the outreach programme in Ingleshie-Amanfrom for the PC and the Constituency Executives with the view to improving the level of campaign in the area. However, looking at the favourable response by the constituents, it could be concluded without any shred of doubt that, the 188 valid votes that pushed the NDC Candidate to Parliament in 2012 would be overturned in NPP's favour, come December despite the defection of NPP's former PC, Pastor Larbie to Nduom's PPP.

Majority of the people are upset with Mahama-led NDC government for showing bad leadership. They are seriously struggling to contain the current economic hardship, corruption and high unemployment rate among the youth. The choice of Alhaji Habib Saad as the NPP PC for Ingleshie-Amanfrom has been our trump card due to his competence, humility, tribe, religion and good human relations; and coupled with Nana Addo's determination to bring better policies and programmes to the citizenry, the NPP would grab the seat.

However, to make this possible, Team PAP would like to appeal to the leadership of the NPP to resource this particular orphan constituency with logistics due to its vast nature. We are also urging the Youth in Ghana to join PAP to be used as a political vessel to canvass for votes for Nana Addo and NPP PCs. This is the only way we could help our beloved party dislodge the incompetent NDC from government in December.

God bless Ghana! God bless Nana Addo!! God bless PAP!!!
