PNC To Sack Abu Ramadan

...Over Double Loyalty Activities

The National Executives Committee (NEC) of the People’s National Convention (PNC) is feverishly planning to take a lasting decision on the double loyalty activities of its National Youth Organizer, Abu Ramadan who is also the son of the National Chairman of the party .

According to the party, Mr. Ramadan in the just ended electioneering campaign exhibited traits of double loyalty by campaigning for the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia to the detriment of the party’s presidential candidate, Hassan Ayariga.

Mr. Ramadan who is also one of the spokespersons for Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG), a pressure group affiliated to the NPP, was captured up North distributing rice and other food items in the name of the NPP’s running mate who happens to be his brother –in law.

Mr. Ramadan at the heat of the campaign threw his political weight behind the opposition NPP, hoping that his sister Samira Bawumia will become the Second Lady should the NPP win the 2012 general polls.

Mrs. Samira Bawumia, wife of the vice-Presidential candidate of the NPP is a daughter of the PNC National Chairman, Ahaji Ahmed Ramadan.

The PNC youth organizer went further by making a declaration on Thursday, November 23, 2012, when he appeared as one of the panelists on ‘Sinipi’ a socio-political programme hosted by Nana Kwabena Obobie -Ansah on “Agoo FM”, an Accra- based radio station.

Interestingly, Atik Mohamed, policy analyst of the party, who was part of the press conference to denounce the flag bearer ship of Hassan Ayariga gave hints of the party’s decision to expel Abu Ramadan from the party on the same radio station, last Monday.

Mr. Mohamed, told Nana Obobie-Ansah, that the PNC youth organizer was going to be expelled for what he termed his “double loyalty”.

Meanwhile, The Herald’s sources within the party have said the PNC was going to take the decision to serve as a deterrent to all party members to avoid the situation that arose in the last elections, where the PNC youth organizer held a press conference denouncing the flagbearer ship of Hassan Ayariga for allegedly heckling and denigrating the NPP’s presidential candidate at the Institute of Economic Affairs’ (IEA’s) Presidential Debate on Wednesday, November 22, at the Banquet Hall of the Statehouse in Accra.

According to the Youth Organizer, the flagbearer’s behaviour at the debate particularly towards the NPP flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, was despicable and in sharp contrast with the ideologies of the party.

The party youth kingpin claimed that he (Ayariga) did not understand why the flag bearer of the party did not take the opportunity of the international platform to espouse the party’s ideologies to convince the floating voters to buy into the ideals of the party in the run up to the December Polls.

The Herald is reliably informed that Alhaji Ahmed Ramadan who is the National Chairman and leader of the party together with his son supported the candidature of Dr. Bawumia as result of his marriage to their daughter and sister, respectively.
