PNC must focus on December polls - Tobiga

A leading member of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Dr Somtin Tobiga has stated that wrangling within the party will cost them dearly if not resolved ahead of the December polls.

An aggrieved group within the party has given the Presidential candidate, Hassan Ayariga, a 14-day ultimatum to render an unqualified apology to the national executives or resign for what it calls an embarrassment to the PNC.

The group has chided the flagbearer for his visit to the airport to welcome the President Mills on his arrival from the United States.

They also say their flagbearer’s comments about the formation of the National Democratic Party and his inability to move to the constituencies to campaign are critical issues of concern.

Dr. Somtin Tobiga in an interview with XYZ News said members of the PNC should concentrate on selling the party’s philosophy rather than engage in petty squabbles.

“For the interest of our party, we need at this particular important time of election year to focus on our campaign so that we can educate the Ghanaian public about the programmes and activities of the PNC”.**
