PNC not in coalition with any party - Ndebugre

Accra, March 14, GNA - Mr John Ndebugre, the Acting National Chairman of the People's National Convention (PNC), has called on all genuine members, supporters and sympathisers of the party to stay away from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) sponsored ROPAA demonstrations. "In their own interest and their safety I urged them to stay away from the rabble-rousing so-called anti-Representation of the People (Amendment) Act (ROPAA) demonstrations."

Mr Ndebugre, who is also the PNC Member of Parliament for Zebilla, made this call in a press statement in Parliament on the planned third anti-ROPAA demonstrations in the coming days. He said the PNC is not in coalition with any other political party for whatever reason and that the PNC only mandated the lower organs of the party to negotiate with the Convention People's Party (CPP) for purpose of unifying the Nkrumahist front. "The EGLE Party cannot claim to be Nkrumahist having regard to the history of its formation." Mr Ndebugre said the founding father of the PNC, Dr Hilla Limann and his government were violently overthrown by former President Jerry John Rawlings who today claim absolute and exclusive ownership of the NDC.

"The historical antecedents of the PNC and NDC prevent the PNC from doing any business with the NDC." "It is for the forgoing reasons that mainstream PNC adherents have been violently opposed to Alhaji Ahmed Ramadan and Mr Benard Mornah, respectively the second National Vice-Chairman and National Youth Organiser of the party." He said the two are dragging the party's name in the mud by getting involved in the NDC-sponsored and inspired Wahala marches of last year and ROPAA demonstrations.

Mr Ndebugre said a small clique seemed to have hijacked the PNC's party headquarters to open it up for infiltration by the NDC and this must be stopped. He cautioned NDC agents who have recently and "shamelessly formed the habit of trespassing upon the PNC's headquarters offices for the purpose of planning their diabolical deeds to put a stop to that habit." "I assured the NDC and their so-called Concerned Citizens that their lackeys include the likes of only Alhaji Ahmed Ramadan, Mr Benard Mornah, Mr Gabriel Pwamang and Dr Somtim Tobiga who will not be allowed to desecrate the name and spirit of Dr Hilla Limann, President of the Third Republic of Ghana through their unwholesome hop-knobbing with them.
