Party agents and polling assistants work to ensure peace

Sunyani, Dec 28, GNA - Voting begun quiet slowly in all the 195 polling stations in Dormaa West and East constituencies in the Brong Ahafo Region. The long queues that characterized voting during the December 7 General Election in the area were absent, with voters rather trekking in trickles to the polling stations to cast their votes. As at 1200 hours many polling stations had recorded less than 50 percent of the voters in the voters register.

At Dormaa-Ahenkro Presby JHS Polling Station, 316 out of 1,443 voters had cast their votes by mid-day. At the Continuation 'B' polling station 200 voters had cast their votes, out of the 1,033 in the register. The elections have generally been peaceful with security personnel, party agents and polling assistants playing their respective roles to sustain the peace till polls close at 1700 hours.
