Footsoldiers across the divides of the two main political parties; the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been admonished to stay away from fomenting trouble that could send them to jail.

"Stay from things which could put you behind bars in the name of party politics", Ashanti Regional Organizer of NPP, Mr. Francis Adomako advised justifying why none of its members was in court to solidarize with two polling stations executives of the party standing trail at Kumasi Circuit Court for allegedly assaulting Member of Parliament (MP) for Tafo-Pankrono and Minister for Monitoring and Evaluation, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei.

According to him, the leadership of the party is much worried about the development, however, the law to decide the fate of the two accused persons who are members of NPP is in the hands of the presiding judge Her Honor, Lydia Osei Marfo.

"Situations like this, party cannot do anything that is the reason we always advise NPP and NDC supporters to stay away from fomenting trouble", Mr. Francis Adomako pointed out.

The two Delta Force members who were arrested in connection with disturbances at the Tafo-Pankrono Constituency have been remanded by a Kumasi Circuit Court to re-appear on October 24 2018.



The prosecution, which was led by Phillip B. Jagri, told the court that the suspects with their accomplices caused damaged to plastic chairs worth GHC 1,000.

Lawyer for the suspects, William Kusi prayed the court to grant his clients bail since the case was a misdemeanour.

According to media reportage, no member of the party from constituency, regional or national level presence in Court to solidarize with the accused.

Explaining the decision of the leadership on local radio, Mr. Kwabena Nsenkyire, Ashanti Regional First Vice Chairman therefore admonished all NPP members to be law abiding to before they will found themselves on the wrong side of the law.
