Pastors’ Group: Mahama Will Win

Predictions of the outcomes of elections by ‘Men of God’ in Ghana have been a part of Ghana’s elections since the country took the path of democracy under the 1992 Constitution. The 2008 presidential election had particularly attracted the attention of many ‘Men of God’ and groups of ‘Men of God’ who came out with varied predictions about its outcome both in favour of the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) late President John Evans Atta Mills and New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Nana Akufo-Addo. One of such groups whose prediction was accurate is a group of pastors calling itself ‘The Watchers of the City’ who insisted that late President Mills would be the winner of that election even when most people had given up hope.
That tradition is continuing with the 2012 elections and ‘Watchers of the City’, as usual, is not being left out. The group is again making another prediction in the 2012 elections for President John Dramani Mahama, saying the NDC presidential candidate would win the election in the first round.
Speaking to The Catalyst in an exclusive interview in the paper’s Kaneshie office over the weekend, the Coordinator of Watchers of the City, Rev Calvin Agbotse said President Mahama and the NDC will win this year’s elections and not Nana Akufo-Addo and his NPP because the President, unlike the NPP candidate, is destined to be President in order to continue with God’s special plan for the country, which was started by the late President Atta Mills.
“A spiritual change happened in Ghana in 2008. That change is still in progress. God used late President Mills to start that process. But President John Mahama will complete that which Mills started. This is not going to be done by political propaganda. God’s supernatural hand is in it. God picked Mills and used him to prepare John Mahama,” the Watchers of the City Coordinator told this reporter.
According to him, “The manifestation of John Mahama is now, and he will establish a divine agenda for Ghana. For my favour is upon him,” if he honours me, I will honour him and Ghana shall experience my blessings. He is not only going to be a leader in Ghana but also in Africa. I will give him wisdom,” the pastor revealed in prophecy.
He added that God has revealed that many will rise up against the President but they will not prevail, if he will follow Him in righteousness and that, whoever will attack him will surrender to him in the end, adding that the ruling party should remain focussed, united and faithful to their divine calling.
According to the Coordinator of the over 100-member pastors’ group, the political dispensation Ghana finds itself in, it is the ruling party that God has given the Grace to rule.
“No demonic activity can stop the victory of John Mahama in the 2012 election,” he stressed saying “God has a plan for Nana Akufo Addo but not as a President, he should go to God in prayer and God will reveal it to him.”
