Peaceful conference by the NPP was sign of maturity - T'Poly TESCON.

Takoradi, Dec.23, GNA - The Takoradi Polytechnic chapter of the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has congratulated the Party for the orderly and peaceful manner the party's conference was organised in Accra. "The orderly and peaceful manner the party's conference was organised was a sure sign of maturity. We appreciate the high democratic culture prevailing within the party and exhibited by both party leaders, contestants and their supporters during the recent conference." The commendation were contained in a statement jointly signed by Mr. William Kwabena Kyere, President of the Chapter and Mr Bawiah Charles McCarthy, Public Relations Officer copied to the Ghana News Agency at Takoradi on Thursday.

It said the behaviour displayed by contestants and their supporters, before, during and after the conference demonstrated to the World that the NPP was indeed a democratic party.

The statement urged the new national executives of the party not to relent in their efforts but emulate the out-going executives and work harder to retain the party in power in 2008.

The Chapter pledged to remain solidly behind the new national executives and was optimistic the members would unite to ensure steady progress within the party for accelerated national development. It extended its heart-felt condolences to the family of the delegate from the Bawku Central Constituency who died in a lorry accident whilst returning home after the conference.

The Chapter wished the injured speedy recovery.
