The Police administration has given the assurance that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure maximum security in Saturday’s parliamentary primaries of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Spokesperson for the Police, Superintendent Cephas Arthur, told Starr News' Kwaku Obeng Adjei that the police is working with the leadership of the party to ensure that the elections run smoothly.
He said the respective flash points have been earmarked for special surveillance.
“The police is prepared to provide security for the elections tomorrow. Indeed, we are working with the leadership of the party to ensure that the various flash points are given the necessary attention to forestall any occurrences”.
Delegates of Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition are voting tomorrow to elect its parliamentary candidates for the 2016 elections.
Meanwhile, 30 constituencies have been omitted from Saturday's polls due to a variety of outstanding issues.
According to a statement issued by the party and signed by its general secretary, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong a date for the primaries of those constituencies would be announced in due course.
