The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Obiri Boahen has indicated that the politics of Insults will keep the National Democratic Congress in opposition for years.
According to him, all the NDC knows is to trade insults against their opponents rather than prove their worth by implementing strategic policies and programmes to better the lives of the Ghanaian public.
Obiri Boahen who was speaking to Accra-based Asempa FM in an interview said the people of Ghana are now discerning and that is why they voted the NDC out of power.
He indicated that the NDC will stay in opposition for long because they don’t seem to learn.
He said, “You go and stand on a campaign platform and insult Bawumia; a man of that stature and expect Ghanaians to vote for you? You shout Bawumia Muntwum Banza Muntwum Banza, Bawumia Mumtwum Banza and you think Ghanaians want such people to govern them? Leaders are insulting, those at the grassroots are insulting so who do you think will vote for you”.
He mentioned that with the insults traded by the likes of Koku Anyidoho, even members of the National Democratic Congress will not be willing to bring such people to power to govern the country.
He indicated that what hurts most is their attacks on the laudable free SHS which they see as not good for the country saying that “as a good political party, the best you could have done was to support the Free SHS policy and say when you come, you will extend it to the private school. But no, that is not the NDC, they are opposing the free SHS.
They say they will not continue the Free SHS when they come to power because it has increased teenage pregnancy, has brought about disease outbreak and that when they come they will cancel. You think that the parents who have been relieved are not listening and won’t against you? They are listening and they will keep them in opposition till thy kingdom come”.
