Pratt likens NPP to 'Boko Haram'

Kwesi Pratt, Editor-in-Chief of the Insight newspaper has likened the New Patriotic Party terrorist groups Al-Qaeda or Boko Haram.

To him, the acid attack and other violent attacks that have since characterized the NPP in recent times, are no different from "Boko Haram."

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Kwesi Pratt urged the Police Service to treat the acid attack on the late Mahama Adams as purely a criminal activity and not a party affair.

According to him, there have been instances of criminal cases which were mingled with party affairs, thus resulting in the suspects being allowed to go scot-free.

But in this particular case, the Senior Journalist called on the security service to arrest the culprits and let the law take its course.

“What has happened is purely a criminal offence. The acid attack on the Upper East Regional Chairman is not a party affair. It’s a criminal offence. It’s murder. It should be investigated like any other murder investigation…Because if we treat it as a party affair, we won’t be able to establish the truth...but we need to know the truth;... If you kill somebody, whether NPP or NDC, it’s a human being you have killed. So, you must be dealt with lawfully.”

“How different is this from Al-Qaeda? How different is this from Boko Haram? I stop your car and pour acid over you because I don’t agree with you. What is that? Is this how we practice democracy? Is this democracy? I feel so [so] embarrassed and disgusted,” he fumed.
