President John Dramani Mahama has set up a committee of legal and governance experts to review the 1992 Constitution.
The 8-member constitutional review team, chaired by Prof. Kwasi Prempeh, is expected to identify and address gaps and challenges in the implementation of the previous constitutional review work conducted by the 2010 Constitution Review Commission and the 2023 Constitution Review Consultative Committee.
Additionally, the team has been tasked by President Mahama to engage key stakeholders to gather their views on proposals for amending the 1992 Constitution and to provide actionable recommendations aimed at strengthening democratic governance in the country.
In an official communique released by the Acting Spokesperson of the Office of the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, on Sunday, January 19, 2025, it announced that the constitutional review team will present its recommendations for amendments within five (5) months for consideration by the Government.
This aligns with President Mahama’s campaign promise to implement a Constitutional Review Process.
“President John Dramani Mahama has in fulfillment of his promise to see through the implementation of the Constitutional Review Process, established a Constitution Review Committee with the following membership...,” the statement said.
The members of the committee are;

5. Dr. Godwin Djokoto - Member
