PNC on rising START with 2011 National Delegates’ Congress

Ladies and gentlemen of the media, comrades and friends, I like to thank you so much for coming to cover this session. The PNC is very much aware of the power of the media as an avenue for transmission of news particularly GOOD NEWS such as we are about to deliver. It is this recognition that persuades us to join with you today to formally inform you that the National Executive Committee (NEC) met on Saturday September 17, 2011 at the party headquarters, Abavana Junction, Accra. NEC took a wide range of decisions and reaffirmed its commitment towards organizing a National Delegates Congress from November 25th-27th in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Further, NEC has granted that Constituencies whose conferences are yet to be done should do so within the next three (3) weeks. Constituencies, for strategic reasons should in the course of their elections also use the occasion to elect parliamentary candidates but this must be properly and widely advertised.
All Regional conferences are to be conducted by 21st October 2011
NEC also took the decision that Flag bearer and National Executive Elections be jointly done. Nominations for National Executive and Flag bearer positions will be opened on 30th September, 2011, and submission of forms ends on October 20, 2011

Congratulatory message to the CPP
NEC wants to formally send an appropriate congratulatory message to the new leadership of the Convention People’s Party (Party). We wish them well’
The PNC is resilient and has contributed enormously to the stability and sustenance of Ghana’s multiparty democratic glory. Over the years we have played key roles and provoked many policy developments. Our collective efforts have not delivered the governance of our nation for us.
This time round, there is renewed enthusiasm and commitment from all party faithful’s. The ever counting number of young people who troop party offices across the country regretting their failure to vote for us in previous elections is but a sign of a party on the RISE.
Surely, they have endured failed promises and a sense of hopelessness. We assure all such young people that the PNC would bind together, nit ourselves in a single mat, raise the game to cresando and secure victory for our nation.
This is the time to join hands with us in revitalizing the party. The November 25-27, 2011 National Delegates Congress would surely be the rising START of great Happenings.
Finally, and on behalf of the NEC, I send a BIG message of congratulations to the Popular Front of Zambia and the New President Michael Sata for the emphatic electoral successes. We in the Party cannot but join in celebrating their victory- a victory for the Zambia. With what happened in Zambia, the PNC can be assured that our time has finally come in 2012.
I thank you
