Ho, Sept 12, GNA - Former Vice-President and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor John Evans Atta Mills, on Sunday urged Christians to pray for love among politicians in their quest for political power.
He said: "as human beings we politicians are frail and weak without the guidance of God".
Prof Mills made the appeal at the thanksgiving and ordination service of the 63rd synod of the Evangelical Presbyterian (E.P.) Church, Ghana in Ho, under the theme, "That all may have life in fullness".
He said divine guidance was needed for politicians to enable them to commit themselves to peace, fairness, transparency and love for the country as they embarked on their campaigns towards the December polls and after the polls.
The Agbogbomefia of Asogli, Togbe Afede XIV, commended the Church for its contribution to national development.
He urged the Church to delegate members to serve on various committees set up by the traditional Council to plan and oversee various development programmes in the area.
Togbe Afede asked the Church to pray for spiritual guidance and unity among chiefs in the Volta Region in their collective pursuit for the development of the region.
